FAQs For Finalists and Attendees Of Postponed Awards 2020 Will the postponed IT Service & Support Awards 2020 be going ahead? Due to the ongoing pandemic and social distancing rules, we are unable to run the postponed Awards dinner and ceremony live on 16th March 2021 as planned. However, SDI has decided to now run the IT Service & Support Awards 2020 live on 26th November from 2pm GMT via a virtual streaming platform. This means we can still deliver an awesome awards presentation experience while respecting social distancing guidelines and maintaining everyone’s safety. How will the awards ceremony work now? The awards ceremony will run in the same way as originally planned – except that attendance will now be virtual instead of at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham. The awards hosts will be presenting live from a TV studio and we will be calling awards finalists in via video link. The winners and runners up of each category will be announced live on air to a virtual audience. I am an awards finalist. What should I do now? Save the date in your diary now – 2-5pm on 26th November! Awards finalists will be invited to attend the ceremony virtually, either as a team or as an individual depending on logistics. A member of the SDI Awards team will be in touch shortly to discuss how we can work with you and/or your team and ensure you can join in the celebration. When will we find out the results of the awards? The results of the 2020 awards will now be announced live on air on 26th November 2020. The judges’ decisions had already been made before the awards ceremony was postponed in March 2020 and these decisions have remained a secret and unaffected. What about the team finalist 2-minute videos? Finalists in the team categories were asked to create 2-minute videos to be shown at the awards ceremony. These will now be show live on air on 26th November so please make sure SDI has your video file to play on the day. I am an awards finalist but I’m unable to attend the new date. What should I do? A member of the SDI Awards team will be in touch in the next few days to discuss the options available. If you’d like to chat please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get in touch straight away. Will non-attendance of the new date affect the outcome of the awards? The judge’s decisions have already been made and the outcomes will be unaffected if you’re unable to attend live. The announcements will be made at the live virtual event on 26th November 2020. Can I get a refund on accommodation for the awards night at the Hilton booked through SDI? SDI will be refunding accommodation booked at the Hilton for awards ticket holders only. This applies only to those who booked accommodation directly through SDI and for the purposes of attending the awards ceremony. Refunded payments for accommodation, or an SDI voucher of the same value, will be offered to the value of the accommodation only. Refunds or vouchers for awards night accommodation will exclude the cost of the awards ticket portion. SDI will be in touch about getting the refund or a voucher to you. Is there a refund policy on awards tickets? Your original awards ticket remains valid for the new date and ceremony. Invoices for awards dinner tickets remain payable as per the terms and conditions and unfortunately cannot be refunded. What about my all-inclusive SDI20 ticket? If you have an all-inclusive ticket to the SDI conference that included a ticket to the awards, you are invited to attend the virtual awards presentation. The conference element of the ticket will be carried forward to the new SDI20 dates 16th & 17th March 2021. What if I can’t make the new awards dinner date? We welcome substitute delegates or guests attending in your place. If you are unable to make the new date or find a replacement, we will be unable to provide a refund.
